  The location is great. We've stayed here several times and have never had a "bad room". Right on the beach and very close to the pier. No need for a rental car. Walk to restaurants, bars, Starbucks, Ralph's, and shops.

  Fantastic location right on the boardwalk. Valet parking is easy and much needed in this busy surf spot. Beach gear is available from the front desk, and relaxing on the sky deck to watch a sunrise or sunset is wonderful. Rooms are clean and simple with a very modern decor. Surprisingly good for families considering that the area is more for the younger social set. Consistently helpful staff.

  We stayed at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar for a conference in mid-December. It was a fantastic experience. The rooms and property are magnificent, and the staff is fantastic. I would highly recommend. The only downside is the distance to San Diego if you are looking to spend a lot of time in the city. Definitely need a car. It's an expensive taxi to/from the airport if that's your plan.

  Very hip hotel. Great vibe. Valet parking. Nice outdoor sunning area. Pool is a little small. Beach access, but you're on the surfing side of the pier. Rooms are fine, with awesome views if you're one of the lucky ones. Pool area is a little cramped. On-site restaurant is very pricey.

  Amazing location right on the Pacific Ocean with clean modern rooms, very friendly staff, ocean views, and a great restaurant and bar. The rooftop deck is beautiful and has an amazing view of the ocean...a nice bonus for sunset watching.
  
  Just steps from the beach and surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants and bars. Only 15-20 minute ride from the airport.
