I went here with my parents to celebrate my mother's birthday. We're all cooks, so we know very well how good food should be prepared. Unfortunately, Sally's matches the stereotype of high priced, mediocre hotel restaurants many of us loath. Based on some of the good reviews, we gave it a try, but I can tell you now, those reviews are highly inaccurate.

Based on the recommendation of the waiter, my father and I ordered the bass fish and chips. It sounded good, but failed in execution. First off, the portion was 2 small pieces of fish along with what seemed like a half-order of french fries. That's a scarce portion for $19., when I can get double that portion at half the price at any decent fish and chips place. The flavor was decent, not great, but the fish fell apart in our hands.

My mother ordered the "Cobb salad", which turned out not to be anything like a Cobb salad. It didn't contain bacon, blue cheese or tomato. The only thing on the plate that is in a normal Cobb salad was lettuce and avocado and a small bit of prawns. It was more like a seafood side salad, which shouldn't be the case for $18.

My girlfriend ordered the "Clam chowder bowl", which for $12 we were expecting an actual nice sized bowl of soup. What came out was a small cup-sized version of chowder in a stale bread bowl. Normally it's nice to nibble on the bread, but this one was inedible and tough; Clearly stale bread.

On the positive, the staff was very polite. However the pricing, serving size and execution of the food leaves much to be desired. If you're looking for a good fish place along the embarcadero, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Beautiful view and service was excellent. Food was OK But not worth the price. Sea Bass had great texture but lacked flavor. They had an interesting spin on the sushi roll but even that didn't taste right. I will probably come back to explore the menu but won't be bragging about it. Perfect for drinks
